& Tax Services

Passion. Experience. Efficiency.

History

The story of Garrow Accounting is not unlike that of many American businesses in its beginning. We started very small, and saw growth through our first several years. The level of service that we offer to our clients is the type that keeps them coming back year after year. Our affordable rates and our “personal professionalism” makes our clients feel more like friends than customers. The way we see it, we are all real people, trying to help real people. As long as we don’t lose focus of that, our friends will continue to come back to us, year after year.

Accountant

Amy Garrow

Amy was born in Laurium, Michigan as the daughter of the highly respected Dr. John (Jack) Rowe, M.D., and Kristine (Billings) Rowe. Sadly, the Great Dr. Rowe passed away when Amy was a mere 8 months old. Kristine later married Jerry Antcliff, who raised Amy as his own until he passed away in 2019.

As a young girl, Amy’s grandfather, a successful businessman, labeled her as “The Secretary”, which was her introduction to the business/accounting field. As years passed, she grew more and more fond of the trade until it became a passion of hers. She decided to pursue her love of accounting by seeking a career in accounting and a college degree. She graduated Magna Cum Laude (above 3.8 GPA) from Baker College.

Amy has been in the accounting field continuously since 1997 in a variety of capacities, working for a bank, a loan service company, a CPA firm, as a Township treasurer, and even for a millionaire. Her duties have reached every aspect of accounting. She has vast accounting knowledge which she continues to grow everyday, which is essential to accomodate the continually changing nature of accounting . She is currently working toward acheiving her CPA designation to better serve her clients.

OFFICE MANager

Vicky Driscoll

Vicky is the newest member of the Garrow Accounting team, and we couldn’t be more pleased with her. She has stepped right into a very complex and diverse position, and she has surpassed all of our expectations. Expect a warm greeting when you call or an exuberant “Hello” when you walk into the office, because that’s just who Vicky is. She is very service minded, and really has a passion to help you in any way she can. She is very capable and comfortable in her new position, and we are looking forward to seeing the new levels that we will reach at Garrow Accounting under her leadership.

Vicky and her husband Tim are originally from Marquette. After graduating, they moved out of state, and eventually moved back to Michigan and settled in Hancock in 2004. They have 3 wonderful children, 2 of whom are in college, and the third is still in High School.

Vicky attended college in Arizona, where she earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Hospitality and Tourism. She worked at Tempe Convention and Visitor’s Bureau, and spent the next several years working in the Hospitality and Tourism industry. When hospitality and tourism hit hard times in 2020, Vicky decided to try her hand in a new setting-an accounting office. She assumed that her time away from hospitality would be brief, and she was right. She returned to the hospitality industry as an event planner. However, she enjoyed the fast pace and fresh faces of the accounting industry, so in fall of 2022 when Garrow Accounting called, she answered, and decided to return to accounting. The attributes that she possessed from her previous work experience, combined with her personality made Vicky the ideal candidate.

Vicky enjoys spending time with her family, watching her kids play sports, cooking, and listening to music.

assistant Office manager (part time)

Julie Newman

Julie joined the Garrow Accounting team in 2017 to accomodate the growth of the business. She was asked to join us because of her beautiful personality and her organizational skills, which Amy recognized when Julie became her Deputy Treasurer for Allouez Township in 2012. Julie has an uncanny personality trait of always being in a good mood, greeting our clients with a smile and a wave, and leaving them with a warm feeling after every visit. She has served a pivotal role in growing and maintaining our reputation of customer service. Julie is a member of the Annual Filing Season Program with the IRS,and she has served as the Allouez Township Treasurer since 2013. She hopes to become a Quickbooks Pro Advisor to better serve the clients of Garrow accounting. We are SO thankful that she is part of the Garrow Accounting family.

In 2021, Julie decided that she was going to step back from her role in Garrow Accounting so that she could spend more time with her newly arriving grandchild. We highly respect her decision, and thank her VERY MUCH for her service with us! She still plays a small role with us, decorating the office, offering her help if we need it, and she occasionally drops in to say a friendly “hello” to lift everyone’s spirits.
